Under Construction: Christmas 2024
Meet the decorating focal point of Christmas 2024. King of Christmas didn't disappoint. I love my 7 1/2 foot Flocked Queen Christmas tree. It's full and heavily flocked. It makes a grand statement and I almost cant believe its sitting in my living room next to me. It's my new Jesus tree. Only one will be put up this year. I usually have 4 that I put up but this year my son and I decided that one is enough. I covered it with 900 warm light lights, flocked pine cones, and gold and white accessories. I carefully placed the gold crown on top of it (because Jesus is King of Kings) above the name of Jesus hanging center in the front. It also has a few fluffy large snowballs and snow flakes on it as well. It looks so wintery. We just love it. In my home Jesus is always the reason for the season. I always have a place for Him to be seen, known and heard in my home before during and after Christmas. In the adjoining room I have a traditional Christmas theme that allows you to tap into memories of your childhood. Those memories live on inside of me and each year I reflect on them. Where I sit now I have a view of both rooms and sometimes my neck feels like its at a tennis match because my head is turning from side to side but I love it.
For those who know me this post will come as no surprise for they know my joy and love for the holidays. I decorate for the holidays in October sometimes before the end of September, LOL. Nothing has changed in regards to what I feel about Christmas since childhood besides there is a more of a visual aspect of Christ. I am no longer a child outwardly but inward that Christmas child remains. I miss my daddy being here with us because he was a part of my Christmases for 51 years. He is tucked away in my heart and mind so when I celebrate I do it for the both of us. I love you Daddy! Thanksgiving is 18 days away and my tribe will all be here chowing down on turkey, ham, stuffing, mac and cheese, candied yams, turnip greens, sweet potato pie, butter cake, cookies, brownies and more, LOL
Wishing you all and your families a happy and safe holiday season!
Peace and Blessings
