New Year Different Look

We have come to the last day of January 2025. A new year came in quick and doesn't seem to be slowing down with the days going by fast. I hated to see the holiday leave but happy just the same to be blessed to transition into a new year.

The last of the Christmas decorations were taken down just last night and I got to decorate the corner the tree was in. I even changed out the look of my alcove by the recliner on the opposite side of the room. I have added more greenery with two 6 foot fiddle leaf trees and retired two of my display towers to the upper floor of my home. I am pleased with the flow from room to room in levels. I am glad I didn't get rid of my old console tables. I pulled them out of storage, wiped them down and decorated them. It created different eye levels between the two rooms I decorate on my first floor. I like for the eye to be drawn up and down. Less is easier on the eyes. It helps the flow of the room seem less complicated to scan and enjoy the arrangements being displayed.

In 2023 and 2024 I was intrigued with vertical decorating and ended up with seven towers between my two rooms. In 2025 my taste changed and I started minimalizing my displays. I am low on storage so I like to shop my home for pieces I already have stored away to create new vignettes all around my home. It is most cost effective and storage friendly because you are really just swapping space for the things you want to be displayed and putting the things you no longer want out away in the same storage space.

I am sticking with my same three primary colors this year of gold, white and black. I have just added more greenery and incorporated more art. I borrow from other rooms in my house to complete a look in another room. LOL This year I also have less gold items on display and more black and white items including a collection of coffee table books. I am still decorating afro boho eclectic style. I will admit after decorating country/farmhouse for so many years it still tugs at my soul from time to time lol but I am letting my afro boho decor remain. I just love the vibe it gives off more and it relaxes me.

Well, I hope everybody has a happy, healthy, prosperous new year. I also pray for the safety of you and your family just as I pray for mine and myself. We are living in perilous times and petitioning and trusting in the Lord is the best thing we can do in this day and age for our family and ourselves. Be kind to one another and be grateful for all God, the Father has done for you and blessed you with. Thanks for stopping by the blog. I hope to inspire my readers in someway be it decorating wise or drawing nearer to and trusting in the Lord

Have a wonderful weekend and new month to come tomorrow.
