My Passion For Design Has Increased!

 

I didn’t truly know the depth of my passion for decorating until now. I knew I had a love for shopping for pieces to style rooms in my home. I knew how excited I would be when I styled my rooms with my finds and the end results would be as I envisioned beforehand. I think I discovered how much I loved it when my plans for the redesign of my dinning room took a pause. A leak in the ceiling slowed my plans down. I didn’t even want to order my dinning table and chairs until the work was at the tail end of completion. I thought that was going to be this past weekend but the slow process of the wall drying convinced the contractor we should wait another week before priming and painting.

 

I didn't know I had this much excitement in me for a refresh. While I wait day by day for the weekend to come it feels like time is moving at a snails pace, lol. I must admit I had to stop watching decorating hauls on YouTube because I don’t want the temptation to run out and get other things when they are truly not needed. I have enough stored away to flip my look at any given time without making any additional purchases, all I have to do is shop my storage units, LOL

 

I will say I am happy with myself for sticking to one design style and not decorating for every big or little holiday. It is too up and down the stairs, pulling out, unpacking and packing away for me. I am content with what I have already accomplished in decorating the home I have lived in for ninety-six months. When I first moved in I was a full on country and farmhouse decorator. The turnaround happened in January of 2022. I decided on a new design style and that design is Afro Bohemian. In 2021 I started playing around with the Boho look but that was short lived and by the time the end of that year came I knew I was ready for a new design choice and I did by adding an African flare with my boho  look. I love watching my journey in decorating evolve and the feeling that it gives me being in my space from the moment I wake up till I retire at night.

 

I hope to inspire others on their decorating journey which is why I started my YouTube channel seven years ago and my Facebook group sharing visuals of this style. It should be of little surprise my IG page is titled "This Girl Loves Decorating" because it is the truth when it comes to this girl. Stay tuned more is yet to come.
