HAPPY DECEMBER 2025
I am thoroughly convinced that time moves at lightning speed. It seems like just a few weeks ago I started decorating in late August, mind you, LOL Thanksgiving 2025 is now a memory. I can’t believe it was just four days ago and now we are living in the moment of the first day of December 2025.
What do you do after all the decorations are up, the food
cooked and eaten, you've finished your Christmas shopping, wrapped everything
and address your Christmas cards and all that is left is to mail them?
Here is my answer, sit back and enjoy the season. I have been watching Hallmark Christmas movies ongoing since October when countdown to Christmas began. Now I spend my days after work admiring the scenery in my home and baking cookies and pies when the feeling hits me. We still have some of the butter cake left I baked for Thanksgiving. Its a brisk day in the low 40's and believe it or not I went out early this morning and just about finished all my Christmas shopping. I have perhaps 2-3 more gifts to get and I am done.
Advent began yesterday and I recorded the first week of my four-week series on the 1st coming and 2nd coming of Christ. It is on my YouTube channel with the same name as this blog. The house is filled to the brim with Christmas displays. A sweet friend of mine said you sure make use of every inch of your first floor without making it look crowded. Sometimes I can’t figure out how I get so much in two rooms, LOL, especially after I downsized my furniture pieces to keep the rooms from looking to overcrowded, imagine that, me, a maximalist worried about the room looking crowded. LOL Go figure.
I intend to enjoy these last 24 days before Christmas. I dislike even speaking that sentence. How did we go from September first to December first so quickly? I always say once Thanksgiving comes and goes the countdown reverses from days left till Christmas to days left of the spirit of the season in the air because on December 26 the feel of Christmas in the world is gone. Some people are sad when it's over and some are happy to be done with it. I am on the side of being sad it's over with. I just put in a Christmas DVD, and I am going to enjoy what is on it. I think I will make some more chocolate chip cookies tonight at 5:30 pm. Enjoy your week everyone and the coming holiday. I hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving. I think I am going to gift wrap my front door. It will give me something to do. Take care my friends and be safe out there.
P.S. For more decorating inspiration there are pictures on my IG page with the same name as this blog.
Happy Holidays!!
