DIY: Thrift Store Flip

Listen, yes, it so easy to order online from sellers and yes you can find some good deals from time to time. There is nothing like thrifting and finding something you were looking for that you almost purchased online because you didn't feel like hunting for a better deal or waiting. I'm telling you that its worth it in the end. I don't know about you but I love saving which is why I go to the thrift store on VIP Tuesdays to save an extra 25% off already low prices. LOL

In light of my search for French items I was looking at the ceramic pieces online. I love the lattice baskets and bowls but some of the pieces are a little pricey. The day before Mother's Day I went thrifting and found two ceramic baskets, one in red and the other in yellow. I knew when I saw them although they were not the color I wanted them to be I could spray paint them the color of my choice. I paid less than $5 each for both of them. It took three coast of paint that had a primer already in it to completely coat them and they came out just as I wanted them to.

 

I saw them online. The red one was over $50 and the yellow was over $40, now to me that is high especially since I came away with two of them from the thrift store for under $10 so see for me it was worth the hunt. I filled each basket with fruit and achieved the look I wanted.
